About Us
It’s impossible to talk about us without first talking a bit about a magic place in Brazil called Minas Gerais. After all, we named our company after this amazing place!
The name “Casa Mineira” means “Minas Gerais House”; a reference to the century-old farm house (a coffee farm) situated in the State of Minas Gerais, where our family have been living through the generations.
A magical place filled with treasures
The State of Minas Gerais is a magical place filled with treasures (real treasures!). It was once the biggest gold and diamonds producer in the world.
Nowadays, the State is one of the world’s largest sources of numerous minerals, such as Gold and Iron.

As if this was not enough, the State is also the largest coffee grower in the planet, supplying over 70 countries, including Canada. So you probably had a cup of coffee from Minas Gerais this morning!

All these riches attracted people from all over the planet over the centuries, making the State a boiling caldron, with a rich cultural soup, spurring the birth of many cultural revolutions in the arts, architecture, music and, of course, the food! Ah, the food!

Every Brazilian living abroad knows that you never refuse a lunch invitation from a person from Minas Gerais!
A little butcher shop
opens in 1930
In this amazing context, around 1930, our grandfather - the son of a small coffee farmer – decided to pursue his dream, and opened his first butcher shop.
This business would stay in the family for the next generations, becoming one of the best sausage markers in the region.
A new life in Canada
The same way our grandfather left a coffee farm to pursue his dreams and build his own legacy in 1930, my amazing wife and I decided to pursue our dreams and build our own legacy in Canada, in 2013.

After 7 years of hard work and dedication - and the arrival of a beautiful baby girl who is the center of our lives - we finally had the time and resources to launch Casa Mineira Sausages in Vancouver, BC, in 2020.
​
Today, our sausages are available at select grocery stores in British Columbia, Ontario, Alberta, and in Quebec. With the support of amazing partners, we will be available in every large and medium city in Canada by 2022. We are grateful to all the friends that we have made along the way, supporting us one way or another to achieve our dreams! Thank you!
